Each year, our annual Congress gets bigger and bigger. Almost three decades ago, the Congress was designed to attract a global audience of people leading the field of neuromuscular disorders and we remain true to that aim. 

Our 2024 Congress in Prague will be our 29th meeting and it's breaking records once again. We have awarded fellowships to people from 33 countries, accepted abstracts from people from 46 countries and welcomed registrations from people from 54 countries. This is an increase even on last year when we had an audience made up of people from 48 countries around the world.

Our deadline for abstract submissions was 17th April. By that date, we had received more than 700 abstracts from people in 46 countries. Our Programme Committee met in Vienna in May to go through all the abstracts and decide which ones would be presented in what format at WMS 2024.

This year, we were determined to allocated all our fellowships. Worth £1,000 for attendees from within Europe and £2,000 for attendees coming from further afield, fellowship funding can be used to pay for travel to and accommodation at the Congress, along with the cost of registration itself. We received almost 200 fellowship applications from people in 36 countries. These fellowships are a core part of our commitment to making sure people in the early stages of their careers can attend the Congress.
