The WMS Myology Café is a virtual meet-up over a coffee or your choice of refreshment as you wish which currently takes place every other month. It is organised by our Myology Developments Across the World Committee and is an informal hour long session which allows you to meet with both regional and international fellow myologists. Both WMS members and non-members are welcome to attend from anywhere in the world.
To attend a Café you will need to pre-register using the ‘please sign up here’ link on the Café advert below or on the Events page of the WMS website. These are also promoted on our social media channels and in our membership newsletters. You will then receive the joining details by email.
The Café is run as a Zoom session and uses Wordly live translation, so all attendees can have the entire meeting translated into their preferred language in real time. There is no need to create a Wordly account or download anything to access the live translation, you will receive a pop-up invitation to use the Wordly app when you have joined the meeting. It is easy to use.
A member of the Myology Developments Across the World Committee hosts the session which usually features an invited guest speaker who will make a short presentation and share their experiences on a topical subject. After the presentation, there will be the opportunity to ask questions either in person or via the chat function in Zoom. It is a friendly and relaxed meeting with none of the sessions being recorded.
Shortly after the Café you will receive an email with an Event Feedback survey, please take a few minutes to complete this, even if you didn’t attend, all feedback is important and helps us to continue to improve future Cafés.
At our WMS Congresses, we bring the virtual Café into the real world by holding in-person sessions serving barista made hot drinks. It is usually open for all the programmed refreshment breaks. Check the signs in the Café to see when we’ll be holding meetings and other informal sessions during the Congress week.
