The 2nd SMA Maghreb Conference

The second SMA Maghreb Conference is an event organised by the SMA Patients Organization in Morocco. The central theme of the second SMA Maghreb Conference is "Exploring SMA Across the Lifespan: From Paediatric to Adult Care." This theme was chosen with the utmost care to address the evolving needs of individuals affected by Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) at every stage of life.

Specific Focus Areas for Presentations:

The second SMA Maghreb Conference is dedicated to addressing critical topics that impact the lives of SMA patients and their caregivers. We recognise that WMS members are invaluable in advancing our collective knowledge in these topics. Therefore, we have identified specific focus areas for presentations that align with our commitment to delivering valuable insights and facilitating meaningful discussions:

• Treatments for adults with SMA: indications and benefits
• The impact of treatments on respiratory function in SMA patients
• The specific needs of adult SMA patients
• Evaluation and management of pain in SMA patients

Language Requirements and Audience Engagement:

The Maghreb region, especially Morocco, is an area where the French language is widely spoken. To ensure effective communication and engagement with our predominantly French-speaking audience, we kindly request that presentations and contributions be made in the French language.
