This year‘s MYO-MRI+ Conference | Imaging in Neuromuscular Disease held in Berlin (Germany) from Sunday, 5th November to Tuesday, 7th November 2023.
The MYO MRI+ Conference 2023 is an international meeting with focus on the main topics: Emerging MRI approaches, other imaging modalities, dynamic imaging and clinical imaging. Beside keynote and invited lectures by renowned experts, ample time will be reserved for poster discussion and selected orals from submitted abstracts. In addition, a whole afternoon of educational sessions will be offered, focusing on basic MRI methodology and basic muscle biology and pathology, including Q&A’s. Finally, a debate with experts in the field will be organised on the evolving role of imaging in the field.
Registration is open now, we are happy to welcome you to Berlin!
Moreover, all participants have the opportunity to submit an abstract online via the registration platform by 30th June 2023. (Please note, that at least one (co-)author should have registered before an abstract can be submitted).
After the abstract reviewing the submitting (co-)author will be informed in time if he/she has been selected for a poster or oral presentation. The Scientific Committee is looking forward to your contributions!
Speakers
We would like to introduce you to some of our speakers from the EDUCATIONAL SESSION on Sunday, 5 November 2023, from 13:45-17:00, and give you a brief insight into their lectures.
Bruce Damon - Lecture on Basic muscle MRI: DTI
“Diffusion imaging in skeletal muscle allows the estimation of several structural and functional properties of interest. I will start this presentation by describing the structural basis for the reduced and anisotropic diffusion of water in muscle fibers. I will then describe the methods and applications of skeletal muscle diffusion imaging for assessing muscle meso-structure (architecture) and micro-structure (fiber size, etc.). Finally, I will describe the intra-voxel incoherent motion (IVIM) model, which considers an additional, diffusion-like signal component (“pseudo-diffusion”) that relates to the structural and functional properties of the microvasculature.”
Kristl Claeys - Lecture on Clinical neuromuscular basics
“I will provide a comprehensive introduction on the basic clinical presentation of diverse neuromuscular diseases. I will present pictures of clinical signs of patients with different neuromuscular disorders and discuss some important differentials.”
