The AOMC was established:
- to promote, establish, undertake, carry out, develop, maintain, operate, run, manage train, help or administer social welfare, provide advancement of care and education and prevention of Neuro-Muscular diseases by teaching and research and development of Myological health services.
- to educate and train medical students and paramedical staff, by conducting workshops, seminars, teaching sessions and other such means at meetings and conferences at institutions represented by members of the Neurological Societies of various national and international Medical Associations from Asian and Oceanian countries.
- to procure services of doctors who are experts in the field of Neuro-Sciences, for purpose of updating knowledge of the Neuro-Sciences community.
- to arrange for Continuing Medical Education Programs for the members, through meetings, conferences, seminars, refresher courses, journals, etc.
- to undertake scientific research in various Myology and other related disciplines.
- to publish and/or otherwise promote utilization of research results.
- to develop and exchange scientific exchange of knowledge and technical collaboration between research Institutions with similar interests and objectives.
- to propagate state of the art management of Myological and Neurological diseases amongst non-Neurological Medical Specialists and General Practitioners.
- to start, promote, assist in starting Web/Electronic media based platforms so as to exchange information and/or provide education and further research in Myological and Neuro-Sciences.
- to provide, and/or offer expert consensus on issues related to Myology and Neuro-Sciences in relation to public health.
- to promote and encourage student interest and participation in local, regional, national and international conferences.
- to promote awareness of Myological and Neurological diseases and prevention programs, and to cooperate and collaborate with patient support groups and other such non-profit making NGOs.
