Request for Proposal (RFP) for hosting future WMS Congresses
2029
The Peripheral Nerve Society (PNS) and the World Muscle Society (WMS) have agreed to host a joint international congress in September 2029 in place of each society’s individual Congresses that year. Due to selected host cities in the intervening years, we have agreed that the joint Congress should take place in a European city in 2029.
The aim of the joint Congress will be to bring together the global muscle and nerve communities, encourage cross‑disciplinary dialogue, and enhance scientific collaboration.
Based on the current popularity of our individual Congresses, we anticipate the joint Congress will attract up to 3,000 attendees from 65+ different countries, making it one of the largest gatherings in the neuromuscular field.
We are inviting expressions of interest from both PNS and WMS members to form Local Organising Committees based in eligible European cities. Eligible committees must consist of current WMS or PNS members. This step will help both societies assess feasibility and potential host locations.

2030
In 2030, we will return to the standard WMS Congress format and encourage WMS members to consider submitting a bid to host our 35 annual, international Congress. With Congress audiences growing each year, we anticipate bringing together more than 2,000 delegates in 2030.
