Register now for WMS 2025!

After much planning, preparing, building and testing, registrations for WMS 2025 in Vienna, Austria, are now open. You can now register for in person or virtual attendance at our 30th annual, international Congress, which will take place from 7th-11th October 2025.
Whether you've been to a WMS Congress in the past or are thinking of attending for the first time, our Congress guide answers most of the questions you might have. And this video version makes the information even more accessible:

Topics
As is typical of WMS Congresses, this year's meeting will explore three main topics:

Topic 1 - Neuromuscular diseases as multisystemic disorders
Topic 2 - Multidisciplinary management of neuromuscular diseases
Topic 3 - Advances in therapies and drug development

We will dedicate a plenary session on each day of WMS 2025 to exploring one of these topics. Speakers will summarise the state of the field on the selected topics and cover key aspects.

For more details of the WMS 2025 programme, including the current summary programme, please visit the programme page of our website.

Early bird prices and fellowships
If you would like to attend WMS 2025, you have until 5th June to benefit from early bird prices. These reduced rates apply to most ticket types.

WMS standard members can save £50 by booking early (full price: £250), while WMS Student members can attend in person for just £80 when they book before 5thJune.

Student members can also benefit from our 2025 fellowships offer for support with the cost of travel and accommodation.

Fellowships are available to first time Congress attendees, early career researchers/clinicians and WMS members who find the registration fee and associated costs a barrier to in-person attendance. To qualify for a fellowship, you will need to be a WMS member.

This year, we have updated the fellowship process to make it easier for delegates to apply and manage their registration. If you would like to apply for a fellowship for WMS 2025, you can do so using the link in your abstract notification email.

This change prevents people from applying earlier in the registration process and changing their registration type once they receive their abstract notification, significantly impacting the programme planning process.

Your abstract will only be considered for virtual or in person presentation types in line with your registration type at the time of abstract submission. Anyone submitting an abstract associated with a virtual registration will not be considered for an oral or short oral presentation and will not be offered the opportunity to apply for a fellowship. Delegates who decide to swap to an in-person registration once the fellowship application deadline has passed will not be eligible to apply at that point, unless they are submitting late breaking news and have updated to in person attendance before their submission.

In addition to our fellowships, we're once again offering caregiver grants to WMS members who have caring needs or responsibilities. Find out more about who's eligible and what the grants cover on our website.

Abstract submissions
If you are planning on submitting an abstract for WMS 2025, you have until 10th April to make your submission.

We have detailed submission guidelines on the Congress website and plenty of advice on what to do if your work is selected for presentation at WMS 2025.

Our Programme Committee will meet in May to review all the submissions.

Early career members - have your say
Are you an early career member? Would you like to help us shape a Congress session for people like you?

We are currently looking for volunteers to give us their thoughts on a session at WMS 2025 for early career myologists.

If you would be interested in participating, please email our Speaker and Programme Manager to let us know.
