Welcome to your May update from the World Muscle Society

I'm writing to you not long after the WMS 2024 Programme Meeting in Vienna. Our dedicated Programme Committee met to review the record number (700+) of abstracts for our 29th annual Congress, which will take place in Prague this October.

The standard of work submitted for WMS 2024 was incredibly high and the Committee had a tough job deciding which authors should be invited to be part of our main Congress programme, which should be invited for short oral presentations and which should be invited for poster presentations. Our 2024 audience can look forward to some exceptional scientific content.

If you haven't registered yet, it's not too late. Our early bird prices are available until 5th June and we'll be accepting registrations for in-person and virtual attendees until 12th September.

Another highlight of our Programme Meeting in Vienna was getting to see our WMS 2025 sites and venues. These two European capital cities are just 300km apart and share many characteristics. Typically, we wouldn't travel to two such similar destinations in consecutive years, but we are still emerging from the reorganisation required to accommodate Covid restrictions.

One unique feature of our 2025 Congress will be that we are celebrating 30 years of WMS Congresses. It's remarkable to see how far our Society has come in (almost) three decades and I look forward to celebrating with many of our members.

As always, we rely on members, to share news about what you're working on so we can tell others. Please do contact us

I wish you the very best.
