
On the 3rd of December 2025, a major milestone was achieved for clinical neurophysiology in the Arab region with the official launch of the Arab Board in Clinical Neurophysiology, a unified five-year training, evaluation, and examination program designed to standardise and advance specialist education across Arab countries.
The launch took place during the Second Baghdad Conference on Neuromuscular Disorders and Clinical Neurophysiology, hosted by the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad on 3–4 December 2025. The event was held in celebration of the establishment of this new speciality within the Arab Board, reflecting a shared regional commitment to excellence in training and patient care.
At the conclusion of the conference, the Scientific Council for Clinical Neurophysiology within the Arab Board convened its formal inaugural meeting, with council members representing Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Kuwait, and Jordan. During this meeting, Professor Abdulnasir Hussin from Iraq, was elected President of the Scientific Council for Clinical Neurophysiology and Prof. Ann Abdel Khader from Egypt as Vice President.
The launch of the Arab Board in Clinical Neurophysiology represents a historic step forward, highlighting the collective efforts of Arab experts to build sustainable, high-quality training pathways and to strengthen collaboration across the Middle East and Africa.
