Call for Early-Stage Editorial Positions
Applications Sought for Neuromuscular Disorders (NMD)
DEADLINE: 28 February 2026
As part of the restructured editorial leadership of Neuromuscular Disorders (NMD), we invite applications for two editorial positions designated for investigators at earlier stages of their independent careers (defined as less than 10 years from their initial academic appointment).
These positions are intended for clinicians, clinician-scientists, or scientists who are actively contributing to the neuromuscular field and who bring contemporary perspectives, methodological expertise, and strong engagement with emerging areas of research. We are particularly committed to ensuring that the editorial board reflects the global neuromuscular community and strongly encourage applications from regions of the world not previously or prominently represented in NMD editorial leadership. We also encourage senior faculty to actively support and encourage self-nomination by junior colleagues who would be strong candidates for these roles.
Appointees will serve a two-year term and will participate fully in the editorial process, including manuscript assessment, peer-review oversight, and strategic discussions regarding the journal’s direction. For these early-stage associate editor positions, workload will be tailored to accommodate the competing demands of junior faculty and emerging investigators.
