The Department of Neurology at the Yale School of Medicine is seeking a full-time BC academic Neurologist with specialty training in neuromuscular disorders to fill the position of Chief of the Division of Neuromuscular Medicine at the level of Associate Professor or Professor.
The Yale Neuromuscular Medicine Division consists of 13 faculty members with a diverse range of clinical and research interests. Available clinical resources include certification as an MDA Care Center, ALS clinics supported by the MDA and ALSA, one of the largest MG Clinics in the country with MGFA involvement, and a robust EMG lab with sites across the Yale-New Haven Health System. The Division is involved in numerous clinical trials and has a strong research infrastructure. There is also an established ACGME-certified fellowship program.
Candidates will be expected to continue to grow the division and develop a cutting-edge research program. The essential duties of this position includes: leading the NM division, caring for patients with neuromuscular disorders, mentoring junior faculty, and teaching residents and fellows. ABPN certification in neuromuscular disease with strong clinical skills, and an established record of academic accomplishment are required. Of utmost importance is the candidate’s ability to successfully establish his/her own research program and maximize the division’s research potential with support from the department and medical school.
