If you have ever wanted to submit an abstract for a WMS Congress, but don’t know where to start, we can help.
WMS members are invited to join us at our online Myology Café on Thursday, 19 March 2026 at 14:00 GMT for the first of three member-only educational workshop sessions focusing on the abstract process from start to finish.
This first session will provide practical guidance, including:
The session will be particularly valuable for early to mid-career researchers and first-time presenters preparing their submissions for WMS 2026.
The WMS senior leadership is getting involved and each workshop session will be co-hosted by an Executive Board member, Programme Committee member or abstract reviewer, alongside an experienced presenter/submitter and a WMS 2025 first-time presenter (prize winner).
We are delighted to announce that our co-presenters for this session will be:
Laurent Servais, WMS President
Werner Stenzel, Chair, WMS 2026 Programme Committee and Executive Board member
Hernán Gonorazky, Chair, WMS Education & Development Opportunities Committee
Sophelia Chan, WMS EDI Committee member
Emna Farhat, WMS 2025 prize winner
As usual, we will feature Wordly live translation during the workshop, allowing attendees to follow the session in their preferred language in real time. However, unlike our regular Myology Cafés, these workshop sessions will be recorded and made available for WMS members to view afterwards.
We hope this workshop will be both practical and inspiring, and that it will provide you with the tools and confidence to submit a strong, competitive abstract.
Look out for details of the follow-up sessions, which are coming soon:
28 May – how to create and upload a good poster
30 July – how to put together and deliver an effective presentation and slides
We look forward to seeing you.
