The objective of this meeting is to harmonise the naming system of the limb girdle and congenital muscular dystrophies – and related disorders.
It has become apparent that the current system fails to capture the potential challenges around the approval of therapies for these conditions. In addition, advances in the genetics of these disorders have also identified shortcomings of the current system. In this meeting, attendees will review the challenges in the naming conventions and collectively decide on appropriate revisions.
