Duchenne Patient Academy 2022

Duchenne Data Foundation partners with World Duchenne Organization to enhance patient advocacy and education and help drive the international advocacy agenda for people living with dystrophinopathies.

Are you a Duchenne and/or Becker MD patient advocate with a strong interest in the unique challenges of patient advocacy? If so, please join us December 1 – 3 at Duchenne Patient Academy and receive training and updates to set a solid basis for current and future global advocacy.

As the dystrophinopathy field seeks to empower patient representatives to advocate for better lives for people affected by Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy, collaborating to educate the global community is essential. This year’s theme is Changing Perspectives. The program is designed to balance the latest information with sharing of experience on topics that are of interest to the community. Expert presentations are followed by an interactive panel discussion, setting the strategic path for the future. The 2022 DPA curriculum consists of the following topics: Research & Innovation, Advocacy & Networking, and Care & Allied Therapies.

The program contains live interactive sessions with experts in their respective fields. Participants will learn how to make strategic decisions to scale up their organization, be updated on clinical research and developments, and implement learnings from the advocacy community to enhance the lives of people with dystrophinopathy in their country.

There will be a poster session where selected posters will be presented. We encourage patient representatives, patient organizations, academics, and healthcare professionals to submit a poster abstract. Poster submission is not limited to participants.

We are looking forward to a fruitful Duchenne Patient Academy 2022, delivering high-quality and relevant skills training to Duchenne and Becker MD patient advocates.
