Dear colleagues,
In recent years, there have been major advances in the diagnosis and treatment of acquired and genetically caused neuromuscular diseases. This means that patients increasingly have the option of personalised therapy. The interdisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment is a prerequisite for optimal patient care.
The close cooperation between the various disciplines is reflected in the composition of the congress management of the 27th Congress of the Medical-Scientific Advisory Board of the German Society for Muscular Diseases (DGM) eV. For the first time, the three of us are sharing the organisation and planning of the congress. Our medical and scientific orientation represents different specialist areas that are involved in the diagnosis and treatment of people with neuromuscular diseases.
The DGM Congress will bring together national and international experts from various disciplines such as neuropediatrics, neurology, neuropathology, genetics, rheumatology, orthopaedics, rehabilitation medicine, respiratory medicine, palliative medicine, intensive care and the medical professions from March 19-21, 2025 in the Gießen Congress Hall. The programme will reflect the current state of research into neuromuscular diseases across all age groups. The topic of "Precise diagnostics and personalised therapy for neuromuscular diseases" will be a focus of the conference.
We are very much looking forward to an exciting 27th DGM Congress in Gießen. Please note the date in your 2025 annual planner!
With kind regards,
Prof. Dr. med. Anne Schänzer
